Anybody for little REVOLUTION?

I am done. I am. Done with putting people into my kids lives that are not good role models. I am done having high expectations and continually getting "let down" by those so-called role models.

Like the Beatles sang... "Let's start a REVOLUTION"!! ...wherever we goooooo. Let's hold people that are in positions of authority to a high standard. Coaches, teachers, politicians, pro-athletes, celebrities....all those people that are placed in high regards to our children.

How can we do this? Well, let's start small. Let's start local. When coaches and directors of a youth football program are more interested in self-promotion and winning instead of HOW the game is played and LEARNING HOW the game is played, we hold them responsible. WE speak up, OR we don't sign up for playing football with that organization. When we don't say anything or do anything, we are part of the problem...not the solution. By not doing or saying anything we are basically telling the coaches that what they are doing is okay. Think about your children....when they know they are doing something wrong, they may look at you while slowly doing it to see if you will say anything. If you say something the behavior stops, but if you don't say anything they will continue doing the behavior.

Unfortunately the "high regards" people are the same...or maybe fortunately. See, let's not be accepting of these behaviors. Let's tell them they are wrong. Either by not having anything to do with them in the first place, or by being vocal about our expectations.

Think about this....when an athlete gets caught with drugs, don't watch their game. Don't buy their merchandise. And tell people (and your children), I am NOT okay with what this guy has done.

Tiger Woods. What if people did speak up? Then maybe when Tiger actually went to have the "affairs" people would have vocally said "that is not okay Tiger". It is wrong to have an affair. Period. Not only did people know about the affairs, but they even helped him to have them and also to hide them. What?

Listen, I am not perfect. But I hold myself to a high standard, and each day I raise it. And, I will keep raising it. I want to make sure that I am "Always a Leader of Good" AND that I am always able to look at myself and know that what I am doing is that of a GOOD ROLE MODEL and MENTOR!

I want those people that put themselves out there...even locally to do the same. So, let's ALL unite and demand these people live up to expectations not only set by us, but by GOD and our country. Let's be a part of the solution...not the problem.

Stand up....and start a REVOLUTION!!!!
